Representatives from Purdue's School of Nursing watched proudly as Elizabeth "Liz" O'Neil, clinical assistant professor of nursing and coordinator of the Family Health Clinic of Monon, received the Community Outreach Award from the Indiana State Board of Nursing during the eleventh annual "Salute to Nurses" held on April 24, 2013, at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis.

Hosted by the Indianapolis Star, the event honors nurses and nurse educators within the Hoosier state who provide selfless service and tireless dedication to the community. The program included lunch, guest speakers, recognition of past award winners and presentations of the 2013 award recipients.
