October 16, 2009: After a national search, Dr. Jane M. Kirkpatrick, Interim Head of the School of Nursing and Interim Associate Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Nursing and Health Sciences has been appointed as the Head of the School of Nursing and Associate Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Nursing and Health Sciences. Dr. Kirkpatrick will serve for a 5-year term beginning on November 1st, 2009. Dr. Craig Svensson, Dean of the College, stated "Dr. Kirkpatrick has provided excellent leadership during her service as an Interim and I am confident she will continue this high quality service as she formally begins her appointment". read more

May 1, 2009: Purdue University's School of Nursing honored two graduates as distinguished alumni on April 17 during the annual Helen R. Johnson Leadership Conference at the Purdue Memorial Union. Donna York Clark and Elizabeth Vance, both of Indianapolis, were honored for their contributions to nursing. read more

April 10, 2009: Purdue University's Board of Trustees approved the following faculty promotion, effective with the 2009-10 academic year: Chyi-Kong (Karen) Chang, Associate Professor of Nursing.

March 23, 2009: Two rural family health clinics operated by Purdue's School of Nursing in Delphi and Monon will receive $1.3 million through a grant made possible by the federal economic stimulus package. President Barack Obama announced March 2 the allocation of $155 million to 126 community health centers nationwide to increase access to care for people in need and create jobs. In Indiana, a total of $2.6 million will support the Purdue clinics and Indiana Health Centers Inc. in Indianapolis. read more

October 22, 2008: The Teaching Academy will hold its annual recognition ceremony for new fellows and associate fellows on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 7:30 PM in the East-West Faculty Lounges of the PMU. Pam Aaltonen and Patricia Coyle-Rogers will be inducted. read more

August 28, 2008: Pam Aaltonen and Karen Yehle have been inducted into Purdue's Book of Great Teachers. read more

August 4, 2008: Julie Novak, professor of nursing and director of the Purdue School of Nursing Clinics, has been awarded the Doc Hollywood award by the Indiana Rural Health Association. The award recognizes individuals dedicated to improving health care in rural or other underserved areas. Novak oversees the five nursing school clinics, including four rural sites in Carroll, White and Tippecanoe counties.

April 24, 2008: Jane M. Kirkpatrick, Associate Professor of Nursing, has been appointed interim head of Purdue University's School of Nursing and interim associate dean in the College of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Health Sciences. Kirkpatrick succeeds Julie Novak, who is stepping down as head and associate dean at the end of the academic year. read more

April 23, 2008: Julie C. Novak, head of the Purdue University School of Nursing since 2003, announced today that she will step down at the end of the academic year to devote more time to managing the school's five nurse-managed clinics, the doctor of nursing practice program and her research. read more

April 13, 2008: Patricia Coyle-Rogers, Associate Professor of Nursing, was one of six winners of the Charles B. Murphy Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching during the University's annual Honors COnvocation. In addition, Michael E. Criswell, Clincial Assistant Professor of Nursing, won the LaNelle E. Geddes Excellence in Teaching Award. read more

September 12, 2006: Purdue University's School of Nursing has received a $2.49 million grant from The Helene Fuld Health Trust to support the school's new doctor of nursing practice degree program.
