Data-driven Evidence to Inform Improvements in Healthcare Practice and Policy

Quality of Healthcare postard imagesThis conference brings together key professional whose shared interest is to improve healthcare systems. The goal is to empower conference participants to design clinically-driven, creative applications of existing healthcare data to effect positive changes in practice environments. Participants will learn about, and share insights into, the retrieval and use of readily accessible patient, provider, institutional and systems data to evaluate practice and inform policy.

The keynote speaker is Linda Aiken, PhD, FAAN, FRCN, RN, The Claire Fagin Leadership Professor in Nursing and Director of the Center for Health Outcomes and Research at the University of Pennsylvania. Her landmark studies link nursing care to patient outcomes. Her research has been pivotal in shaping local, national and global health policy and practice. This conference offers an opportunity for fellow researchers and practice partners to share data-driven results about such topics as quality and safety innovation, nurse-sensitive outcome evaluation, chronic disease management, healthcare delivery systematic improvement, and interprofessional collaboration.

Learning objectives:

  • Discuss issues surrounding the retrieval, use, and analysis of healthcare data
  • Describe studies that have used healthcare data to evaluate practice and policy
  • Demonstrate how data-driven results have been implemented to improve healthcare quality and delivery
