The Pharmacy, Nursing, and Health Sciences
(PNHS) Library
The PNHS Library is one of fifteen school or departmental libraries in
the Purdue University Libraries
System. Materials to support the educational and research needs of the Schools of
Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, and Health Sciences are found in the PNHS
Library, which is located in Room 272 on the second floor of the Heine Pharmacy Building.
The limited seating within the PNHS Library is frequently filled to
capacity. Quiet study is requested. Additional study space is available in the student
lounge areas located on the basement level of the Pharmacy Building and on the ground
floor of Johnson Hall of Nursing. A 24-hour study room is located in the Undergraduate
Library Building.
The Online Resource (THOR) and THOR+ are the Purdue University
Libraries information systems. The holdings and locations of the materials owned by the
Libraries are found in the database PCAT (Purdue Catalog). Subject-specific databases of
journal article citations, library catalogs of the Big Ten universities, and access to
internet and web sites on campus and around the world are just a few of the many resources
found on THOR and THOR+. Users may access the system in the libraries, computer labs, and
residence halls, or from a personal computer with network connections.
Reference assistance is available Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
Evening and weekend student workers can only assist in checking out or locating materials.
Three copiers are located near the entrance of the library. Coins ($.05
per copy) or a copy debit card ($.04 per copy) can be used. These cards can be purchased
in the PNHS Library, Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m., as well as in the larger
libraries on campus that also have copy machines.
