Program Requirements
- Fulfillment of all School of Nursing prerequisite courses (see General Education Requirements).
- A baccalaureate degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher from a nationally accredited institution of higher learning. Transcripts from all institutions attended must be on file.
- Two letters of reference, one from your academic institution and one from your previous place of employment.
- Updated resumé or curriculum vita.
- An essay (300-500 words) explaining reasons for changing careers and choosing Nursing as a major. Contents should also include why you are a good candidate for such an accelerated program and how the Second-degree program will facilitate your career goals.
- International students must score a minimum of 213 on the computer-based TOEFL.
- Computer literacy.
- On entry into the program:
- A recent physical examination and updated immunizations and Mantoux TB test or chest x-ray.
- Liability insurance, health insurance, background history.
- Health Care Provider certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) according to American Heart Association guidelines.
- Students must have their previous degree transcript reviewed by a School of Nursing advisor prior to being considered for admission.
Due to the highly competitive nature of the program, a personal interview is required.
